Monday May 25, 2009    Memorial Day Service were held at the Veterans Memorial Park located on  
                                   Main Street.  The Service is held each Memorial Day.  Please make plans
                                   to join us next year.
                                                        

Friday June 12, 2009     Summer Sounds Down by the Riverside concert at the Veterans Memorial
                                  Park in downtown Vanceburg.  Concert begins at 8:00 PM and is free.
                                  Come to Vanceburg, eat in your favorite restaurant and then come join us
                                  for good 50s,60s and 70's music. BRING YOU LAWN CHAIR
                           
                                 At the June 12th Concert we were entertained by the Doo Wop Group
                                 "Blend" for Energy, IL.

Saturday, July 4th          July 4th Celebration in downtown Vanceburg to be observed.  
                                  Our celebration is usually the biggest in this area.  Fun for all.
                                          
                                   This year's rain didn't stop the fun in Vanceburg and the Fire Works
                                    were GREAT. Come See Us Next Year for the Biggest Fire Works

Friday Night Oct. 30 and Saturday Night Oct. 31  VANCEBURG WILL HOST THE 3RD ANNUAL HAUNTED
HOTEL AND MONSTER BASH.  LOCATION IS THE OLD CARTER HOUSE HOTEL ON THE CORNER OF
2ND STREET AND MAIN STREET IN DOWNTOWN VANCEBURG. HOURS FOR BOTH NIGHTS ARE FROM
6:00PM - 10:00PM.  SPONSORED BY THE CITY OF VANCEBURG, VANCEBURG FIRE
DEPARTMENT,LOCAL BOY SCOUT GROUPS AND GREAT VOLUNTEERS.  THE SCOUTS WILL BE
SELLING FOOD AT THE BASH.  COME IF YOU DARE AND BE VERY AFRAID.


Saturday Night Oct 31 -- Is Trick or Treat Night in Vanceburg. Hours are 5:00PM-7:00PM.


December 9th -  The 7th annual Church By Candlelight Tour will be held beginning at the Old Courthouse
on 2nd Street at 6:00 PM.  We will hear the history of the Old Courthouse.  From there we will begin our
tours of the downtown churches.  There will be town folks from the 1860's singing and talking as we
make our way from church to church.  Each year we add something new to the tour. Please come and
enjoy the wonderful event.  We all need joy in our lives and it is FREE.

December 11th -  The Vanceburg Main Street Program will host our very first HOMES FOR
CHRISTMAS TOUR.  The tour will begin at 6:00 PM at the George Morgan Thomas House on Third
Street where we will be entertained with music, food and town folks from the past. From the GMT
House we will be bused to each private historical home on the tour.  This is a fun raiser for Main Street
Program.
The cost of the Tour will be $15.00 per person.  Please come and see some of the old historical home.
